খাদ্য সহায়তা কর্মসূচী

বর্তমানে করোনা ভাইরাসের প্রাদুর্ভাবের কারণে প্রান্তিক দিনমজুর, শ্রমিক, ক্ষুদ্র ব্যবসায়ী সহ অনেকেই কর্মহীন ও উপার্জনহীন হয়ে পড়েছে। এই অবস্থায় ঘরবন্দী খাদ্য সংকটে থাকা গরীব ও দুঃস্থ পরিবারগুলোর সাহায্যর্থে এগিয়ে এসেছে গ্রামীণ হেলথ কেয়ার সার্ভিসেস, একটি সামাজিক ব্যবসা প্রতিষ্ঠান । একটি সুপরিকল্পিত নীতিমালা অনুযায়ী আগামী তিন মাস ব্যাপী প্রত্যন্ত অঞ্চলের দুঃস্থ পরিবারগুলোর নিকট ত্রাণ সহায়তা পৌঁছে দেয়ার জন্য গ্রামীণ হেলথ কেয়ার সার্ভিসেস, ত্রাণ সহায়তার আওতায় ১৩৫ টি পরিবারকে ইতোমধ্যে খাদ্য সহায়তা প্রদান করা হয়েছে এবং আগামী তিন মাসে ৪০৫ টি পরিবারকে এই “খাদ্য সহায়তা কর্মসূচী” অধীনে খাদ্য সহায়তা প্রদান করা হবে। পরিবারের  সদস্য সংখ্যা বিবেচনা করে সর্বোচ্চ ১০ কেজি চাল, ২ কেজি ডাল, ২ কেজি আটা, ২ কেজি পেয়াজ, ৫ কেজি আলু, ২ লিটার সয়াবিন তেল, ১ কেজি লবণ, ২ টি সাবান (ডেটল/লাইফবয়) এবং জরুরী নগদ অর্থ ২০০ (দুইশত) টাকা ত্রাণ সহায়তা প্রদান করা হচ্ছে। বেশিরভাগ মানুষ যখন লকডাউনে বাসায়, তখন বাড়ীতে বাড়ীতে গিয়ে গ্রামীণ হেলথ কেয়ার সার্ভিসেস-র কর্মীবৃন্দ খাবার প্যাকেট পৌঁছে দিচ্ছে।

গ্রামীণ হেলথ কেয়ার সার্ভিসেস লিঃ এর পরিচালনাধীন হাসপাতালগুলো দেশের চারটি জেলায়- বগুড়া, বরিশাল, ঠাকুরগাঁ ও সাতক্ষীরায় তাদের নিয়মিত স্বাস্থ্য সেবা কার্যক্রম অব্যাহত রাখছে এবং বিশ্ব স্বাস্থ্য সংস্থা-র নির্দেশনা অনুযায়ী সকল প্রকার নিরাপত্তা এবং প্রতিরোধমূলক ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করে জরুরী চক্ষু সেবা প্রদান করে যাচ্ছে। এছাড়াও হাসপাতাল কর্তৃপক্ষ বিশ্ব স্বাস্থ্য সংস্থা-র নির্দেশনা অনুযায়ী করোনা প্রতিরোধের জন্য সম্ভাব্য করনীয় বিষয় সম্পর্কে রোগীদের সচেতন করার দায়িত্ব পালন করে যাচ্ছে।

এছাড়াও গ্রামীণ হেলথ কেয়ার সার্ভিসেস-র একটি সহযোগী প্রতিষ্ঠান হিসেবে গ্রামীণ ক্যালডোনিয়ান কলেজ অব নার্সিং সুনামের সাথে নার্সিং শিক্ষা ও প্রশিক্ষণ দিয়ে আসছে।

Food distribution program

In light of the recent situation caused by Corona virus day laborers, workers and small business owners have become jobless and their source of income has been disrupted severely. To mitigate this challenge as part of various other activities, Grameen Healthcare Services Ltd., a social business enterprise, has undertaken a three month long 'Food Support Initiative' to help the families in remote area who are in dire need of food and welfare support for next three months.

Initially an overall number of 135 families have been shortlisted for the relief distribution with a target of providing support to 405 families in Bogura, Barishal and Thakurgaon districts till June 2020. All the hospitals under GHS have been carrying out the task of essential food distribution. Considering of family members into account maximum 10 KGs of rice, 2 KGs of lentil, 2KGs of flour, 2 KGs of onions, 5 KGs of potatoes, 2 liters of soybean oil, 1 KG of salt, 2 soaps (Dettol/Lifebuoy) and 200 (two hundred) taka emergency cash is given as welfare and food support. Since everyone is under lockdown in current condition, the GHS employees are providing door to door food support delivery. In context of the Corona pandemic situation this support program will continue for next 3 months till June 2020.

Meanwhile the GHS hospitals are continuing their operation for essential and emergency eye care treatments in four different districts – Bogura, Barishal, Thakurgaon and Satkhira. The aim of these hospitals is to provide modern eye care treatments to the under privileged people at an affordable cost. In addition, Grameen Caledonian College of Nursing is working as a sister concern of GHS and providing nursing education and training with great repute. They are also providing counseling and patients’ education for preventive measures as per guidelines given by World Health Organization.

Grameen Health Care Services Limited has undertaken the welfare activities to help the day labours, small business owners, down trodden and desolated families who are unable to get by with their daily necessities due to the lockdown situation of the country.

GHS management has created a relief fund to provide support to the families in desolated areas.

Grameen GC Eye hospitals have taken the initiative of supplying the reliefs to poor families according to the decisions taken by the management committee.

GHS have planned to provide 15 days worth of rice, lentil, potato, cooking oil, salt, flour, soap, and necessary grocery arrangements, which will be enough to take care of these poor families who are now unable to provide for themselves.

Grameen GC Eye Hospital, Bogura took the initiative to provide welfare support to 60 families, which are shortlisted after careful deliberation. Till 9 April, 2020, they have managed to provide the support to 18 families.

Grameen GC Eye Hospital, Barishal has shortlisted 40 families who are in dire need for food and welfare support and till date extended the support to 17 poor families.

Grameen Eye Hospital, Thakurgaon has decided to extend their support to 35 families and already manage to reach 20 families with support which is enough to support them for 15 days.

Considering the Corona pandemic situation this support program can be extended to 3 months.

GHS management committee has short listed families who are in dire need for foods and supports and working adamantly to support them.

At the same time, all the hospitals under GHS management is operating by strictly following the guidelines provided by WHO for safety and preventive measures.
