Celebration of World Sight Day 2020

Three eye hospitals of Grameen Health Care Servcies Ltd., Bogura, Barishal and Thakurgoan, celebrated the World Sight Day 2020 on 8 October 2020, the second Thursday of October. Grameen Hospitals celebrate the World Sight Day every year with much enthusiasm, but due to the corona pandemic and health safety issues this year’s celebration was observed at a limited capacity.

The authority of each hospital arranged some events for the day. They developed banners and festoons depicting the spirit of World Sight Day and Eye care awareness for the occasion and decorated the hospital surroundings with it.

The hospital authority distributed uniformed caps among the staff of the hospital for the occasion. The celebration was begun with a rally that started from the hospital premises and went through the key areas of the locality while engaging with people from every walk of life. The rally circumnavigated and came to a finish as it reached the hospital premises again. All the hospital staff, administration personnel joined the rally.

The hospital authority held an awareness discussion on various aspects of World Sight Day and eye care for the patients and visitors at the hospital. The hospital patients and visitors, respected members of the society along with hospital staff and respected local administrative authorities were present at the discussion.

The celebration of World Sight Day 2020 was concluded with some light refreshment enjoyed by all the participants of the occasion.
